Solutide!! Its difficult!

I've been slacking in many areas of my life right now. Spiritually as well. & I can only point to one reason why I'm being a slacker. I have not been listening lately..I'm too busy going about doing chores. Too busy with ministry. & yaddy yadda..Don't get me wrong. I still do pray..read the bible but I shall say, it wasn't good quality time with the Lord. Oh TV! Oh internet! Oh Facebook! oh the so many projects like doing interior decor, trying to embark on a fashion make over with my old pieces due to the low in budget...So many things that is equipping my mind! I can't keep still for even 15 minutes! Every time I do so, I'll say "God, where is this going?" Crick..crick..hear the crickets & their sound. Well, like it or not, I've gotta do it! Or else, I'm gonna get into a major breakdown or burnout. Now that's bad!! I know God has been putting solitude in my heart for the past few weeks. A friend has been bugging me t...

The Allah issue again...only in Malaysia..

This past few weeks the usage of the word Allah cropped out again. The Sultan of Selangor and his 'genius' of a team sought to enforce that the word Allah shall be used by the Muslims only. Pardon me? I'm Bidayuh-Iban & as long as I can remember, the word Allah has been used by my people since time immemorial. We use it in our liturgy, hymn books & of course, our Bible. Even in our prayers, Allah is mentioned. I believe the word Allah is used with reference to God even by the non-muslims in the Middle East. & the muslims there ain't got no fuss on the matter. & no..don't give me that Sabah & Sarawak is different. I'm Malaysian, & I want all of us to be treated equally. We enjoy the same rights, we bear the same obligation as a citizen. No? I can only assume one thing from this matter. Election is coming soon. Is it a ploy? Or not, well, we shall wait till election day comes. I love my country...but the rulers, from the crown to those ...

3 days to 21.12.12!

In 3 days time, its going to be 21.12.12. On that date, it is predicted to be the end of the world. Doomsday some may call it. So well known is that date that it has been talked about since early this year. In fact, National Geographic Channel has a special show on this called Doomsday Prepper which I find pretty interesting in a humorous way! Do I believe that the world is going to end this 21.12.12. Nope. Nada. I can bet my bottom dollar on this that it ain't goin' to happen. My grounds? I have the Bible to stand on for my belief! Nobody knows the hour! Not even Jesus. Only the Father knows the time.(Matt. 24:36) However, Scripture does tells us the sign of the end of times but NEVER the actual date. For me, anyone who predicts the date for which this world would end is either a heretic or a cult. Definitely not from God! A reporter friend of mine did a newspaper cover on doomsday 21.12.12. She has asked for my views of it. I have given my take on the matter & have said...

We're serious yer all!

15th December 2012 was such a memorable day for me. Well, for the churches of Kuching as well. On that day, my church, Trinity Community Centre participated in the Kuching Christmas Parade. About 10,000 people from the various churches in Kuching joined the Parade. Some people brought their banners & flags. Some brought their guitars & sang the Christmas carols or some gospel tunes. One Iban church brought their native instruments, like the gongs, engkerumung(the Iban's version of the xylophone)..Man, that group rocks! There were tambourine dancers, the Boys Brigade band, balloons, people carrying candles, & yes, floats! Again, I repeat, floats! Are they freaking kidding me? Anyway, it was way past cool! Can't believe that we, Kuchingites Christians can pull this of. What me & my team did was sing along to the Christmas carols played by the band. At times, we wished the by standers 'Merry Christmas! God bless you!' Some of us, went to the extend of ...

Christ in Christmas: Christmas Greeting Card

Christ in Christmas: Christmas Greeting Card There's many woes as Christmas Day approaches. What to cook for the Eve? What to wear? What Christmas presents to get? Christmas caroling practices & church activities to plan for. & the worst part is the worries of not having enough money to buy the stuffs mentioned. Oh boy! How did we get here? Is Christmas about the food, drinks, the partying & presents? How on earth did we get there? Even I myself became a victim of this wrong idea of Christmas. I got too stressed over the preparations for the Christmas service...the song list, what Christmas carols to sing.. We have missed the point about Christmas! Its a day which was fixed by the Christians to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Though 25th December is definitely not the actual birth date of Jesus, what is important is that Christmas Day marks the day when we Christians remember how gracious God is that He has sent His Only begotten Son for us. So, lets enjoy th...

Oyster mushroom soup

Image
Mum & I have been thinking of planting or cultivating(forgive me for the wrong usage of terms) oyster mushrooms at home. Thanks to my cuzzie, who's doing this business, we could get the seedlings. I bought some mushrooms for me to do some test..as in food test. Thinking about how to cook these good looking shrooms and mushroom soup came to mind. So here's my main ingredient, the oyster mushroom itself..the sides are fresh thyme & one yellow lemon. I started by putting the mushrooms into the food processor. Squeezed the lemon for its juices. Then blend it together until it gets a bit of a liquid consistency. Chop a tbsp of shallots & thyme. Get ready half a bay leaf, 2 cups of chicken stock & 2 cups of cream. Heat up oil in pan. Put in the chopped shallots & thyme. When it gets fragrant, throw in the blended mushrooms. Stir 'em all up until it gets a little dry. Then pour in a tbsp of salt & pepper, together with the bay leaf, chicken stock...
