Festive mode

As much as I'm excited for my Muslim friends who will be celebrating the Raya this coming Wednesday, I just don't like the 'before' effect of the festive season. Be it Raya, Christmas or CNY for that matter.

For me, when a festival is just around the corner, I automatically get into the festive mode. Festive mode is where my mind starts to shut off from work. I may be physically at work, but work is far from my mind. I begin to get sluggish & the temptation to put aside my datelines is so strong.

Am I going to share to you all about overcoming this 'festive mode'. Share I will. But not on overcoming but on succumbing. Ah well...there's tomorrow, which is the last day. Hopefully, I'll do better.

Wait till the Raya holidays end. Then there will be the after effects of the holidays. That will be another episode altogether.

Book spree & CD Spree!!

Yesterday, went gift hunting at Doulos. Supposedly to be gift hunting, nangga2x, bought stuffs for myself. Hehehe..... So at Doulos, I bought 3 books. 1 book is a gift for my coming X'mas party. 2 books for myself. All for RM24. Stinking cheap right? If I buy these books at the local bookstore, it'll cost me somewhere around RM25-RM35 per book. Yeah....dirt cheap. When I thought I was done with my book spree, I came across one section of the ship where they have an offer. 4CDs + 1 doulos bag for RM20. Or 3 books + 1 Doulos bag for RM20. Wowsers! Green Chords-State Level 2009

This is the reason why I drove all the way to Sibu. To lend support to my brother's school marching band, the Green Chords. Before this, I was never a fan. Err wait..before this I've never heard of marching band at all. Of course this all changed after my sibs joined Green Road Sec. School's marching band. See the guy with the tuba. That's my younger bro, Calvin a.k.a Ju. When he first started, i.e. at the age of 13, he was selected to play the tuba. Mind you, he was the sole tuba player for 4 consecutive years. Imagine, he's controlling the bass side of the band...all by himself. Mind you, among all of us siblings, he was never musically trained. It was because of band that he begged my mum to enroll him for piano class..at the age of 14, which is quite late..just to master theory.He plays the tuba..and he has no musical theory background. Give grace to Elizabeth Wong

Elizabeth Wong's nude pictures scandal has been a big hit recently. Some groups were sympathetic towards her, seeing it as a grievous unfortunate event. But some looked at her with scorn and demands her resignation...they remind me of the Pharisees in the Bible. Why should Elizabeth resign because of something which is not wrong legally? Her privacy was invaded. She is a victim of one sicko out there..whoever he is, I hope the authority would get him and bring him to justice! As for her morality, that is between her and God. For Christians, telling a white lie is equal to the sin of killing. Lusting for someone in the mind is equivalent to committing adultery. Sin is sin.
